Ben Grice brings more than 10 years’ experience in rural property and has been the lead valuer on several of Australia’s largest institutional-grade agricultural and horticultural assets.
Based in Melbourne, Ben Grice is a Director in LAWD’s Valuations Team and brings more than 10 years’ experience valuing some of the largest investment-grade agricultural assets in Australia to the team.
Ben’s background growing up on a beef property in Victoria’s western district sparked his interest in a career in rural property and he has since established himself as a respected valuer in the agribusiness sector. He has led the valuation of several of the nation’s largest institutional-grade agricultural and horticultural assets and is a trusted advisor to both major institutional and intergenerational family farming investors.
Prior to becoming a property valuer, Ben worked in the agribusiness banking sector, gaining experience and insight into working capital, equipment finance and term debt requirements for a range of horticultural businesses.
Ben’s career highlights include leading the valuation of both Australia’s largest poultry portfolio and one of the largest horticultural portfolios for institutional investors, with both transactions subject to a long-term, triple-net lease. His experience also extends to all the horticultural industries, as well as the wine industry where he has undertaken valuations on behalf of major wine producers in Western Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria. Ben has also completed valuations of some of the largest water entitlement portfolios within the Southern Connected Murray Darling Basin.
