Peter Payne brings more than 35 years’ experience to the valuation team and is a highly regarded rural property expert.
Peter Payne is LAWD’s Quality Assurance Manager and brings more than 35 years’ experience in the valuation of agricultural assets across Australia to the team. Raised on farming and grazing properties, Peter has also developed an irrigation operation near Allora in southern Queensland. This background was the catalyst to Peter pursuing a career in rural property valuation, culminating in his professional skills being highly regarded by individual and corporate clients. In his role, Peter reviews all valuation reports prepared by LAWD valuers, and takes a keen interest in providing ongoing guidance and mentoring to the team.
Based in Toowoomba, Peter is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and has specific expertise in valuing assets Australia-wide including post-farm gate processing facilities, large-scale cattle feedlots, cattle stations and irrigation/broad hectare cropping properties.
Earlier in his career, Peter was a foundation grower of purple pigeon grass for the Department of Primary Industries and bred sorghum seed for a seed distribution company. He is a respected member of the agriculture industry and, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, lectured in rural valuation at the University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Western Sydney.
