Tom Burchell is the Senior Director in LAWD’s Melbourne Valuations Team and brings more than 13 years’ experience in Australian agribusiness, primarily valuing irrigated and dryland cropping assets, along with livestock holdings.
Hailing from a cropping and livestock grazing enterprise in the Wimmera region of Victoria, Tom brings personal insights and practical farm experience to his role and continues being involved in the operations of a dryland cropping enterprise.
Tom is experienced in undertaking valuations for a range of institutional investors for both financial reporting and due diligence, as well as providing valuations for large scale local farming families for mortgage security and accounting purposes. Tom has an enviable reputation as one of the country’s most sought after valuers of cropping portfolios, with corporate clients often seeking his expertise and knowledge on acquisitions across Australia.
Tom has been involved in valuing some of the largest pastoral and cropping assets in Australia and also specialises in valuing bulk grain handling facilities. Tom’s diverse range of expertise extends to the valuation of specialist equine and horse training facilities, dairy farm portfolios, forestry portfolios, water entitlements and intensive irrigation assets.
